Speaking on the Angel Morning Show (AMS) on Monday, January 3, Kumasi Asante Kotoko Communications Team Member, Seth Nii Darko, confirmed to Saddick Obama that the club will announce its next course of action after a management meeting.
Meanwhile, in a separate interview with seasoned sports journalist Sir Joe Laka on Kesben TV, Mr. Darko indicated that the likelihood of Kotoko withdrawing from the league is high, stating that the club can no longer tolerate such treatment.
“We are currently holding a meeting, and yes, it is likely we will withdraw from the league. This is not the first time we have been subjected to such ill-treatment at Ghana Premier League matches, especially at the hands of teams from the Brong Ahafo Region,” he said, as monitored by the portal.
According to Mr. Darko, the club’s future in the league depends on competition stakeholders implementing drastic measures to address hooliganism in Ghanaian football.
“Until pragmatic measures are taken and enforced, we will have to stop playing in the league,” he stated.
Meanwhile, Nsoatreman FC has already announced its withdrawal from the league in a formal letter addressed to the Ghana Football Association (GFA).
