A member of the New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) communication team, Ellen Ama Daaku, has denied allegations that the previous NPP government sacked 13,000 employees when they were in government.

During a panel discussion on the Angel Morning Show (AMS) on February 17, 2025, Ama Daaku pointed out that these claims mostly made by the incumbent National Democratic Congress (NDC) are baseless and lack evidence.

“If they claimed we sacked this number of people, let them bring evidence of it… someone did the publication without evidence, and we will not stand for it,” she said.

According to her, the current employees in various sectors, including security services and soldiers under training, are not exclusively members of the New Patriotic Party.

Therefore, she does not understand why the current government is sacking individuals from their offices.

“Are they trying to say the people who are currently employed are members of the NPP only? Including the security services, soldiers who are under training, the police…are they also members of the NPP?” she queried.

Ellen Daaku further stated that many Ghanaians do not want to work under government due to their political affiliations but rather prefer doing their personal jobs; hence, they are not worried for not working under any government.

She also added that the law must be applied if they did not take the necessary channels to sack people from their professions in the country.
