First Lady, Lordina Dramani Mahama, has entreated Ghanaian women to work harder and form a unifying front for empowerment in gender equality.

She emphasised the importance of women stepping up their efforts to achieve gender equality and representation in national life.

Mrs. Mahama made the call in a statement on Saturday, March 8, 2025, while celebrating the year’s International Women’s Day with Ghanaian women.

“Today, let’s celebrate the incredible achievements and resilience of Ghanaian women and women across the world. This year’s theme, #AccelerateAction#, is a powerful call to step up our efforts to achieve gender equality and representation in national life.

“We must work harder and faster together to empower women and girls and ensure equal opportunities in education, healthcare, leadership, and all aspects of life,” noted the First Lady.

Stressing women inclusiveness in the current National Democratic Congress NDC administration, she expressed confidence in her spouse President Mahama to hold them higher.

“I trust President Mahama’s leadership to continue advancing women’s issues and achieving gender parity.”
