A Deputy Communications Director of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) has cautioned the governing National Democratic Congress (NDC) against using the same propaganda tactics they employed to win power in managing the country’s affairs.
Speaking on the Angel Morning Show (AMS), George Krobea Asante stated that while the NDC may have succeeded with lies in securing political power, such strategies cannot sustain effective governance.
“You can use propaganda and mischief to win political power, but you can’t use propaganda and mischief to govern a country,” he said on Wednesday, April 9, 2025,
Mr. Asante warned that the NDC’s continued use of deceit under the guise of politics would be exposed unless there is a change in their approach.
“You see, the NDC has become a different breed of Ghanaians because their utterances and behavior are unacceptable… but gradually, the reality of the lies they dish out to Ghanaians is dawning on them.”
He went on to highlight what he described as the double standards of the incumbent government, noting that their stance on national issues, such as illegal mining has changed since coming into power.
“When we said the fight against galamsey must be collective, the NDC held different views and resorted to name-calling former President Akufo-Addo. But today, a government spokesperson [Felix Kwaakye-Ofosu] has declared that the fight against galamsey is a lifetime commitment.”
