President Mahama must fulfill promise to restore peace in Bawku

A Communication Team Member of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Ellen Ama Daaku, has urged President John Dramani Mahama to do his best to restore peace in Bawku as he promised during his 2024 campaign.

Speaking on Angel TV on Monday, April 14, 2025, she alleged that the escalating conflict in Bawku is a result of President Mahama’s statements during the 2024 election campaigns.

According to her, during the 2024 election campaign, President Mahama made a statement on his campaign platform in Bawku accusing the NPP of fueling the dispute anytime they come to power.

“Anytime the NDC is in power, there is peace in Bawku; as soon as the National Democratic Congress (NDC) leaves power, there is conflict,” President Mahama claimed.

In response, Madam Ama Daaku has called on the President to ensure a peaceful atmosphere in Bawku, warning that failure to do so will land him in trouble.

“President Mahama, make sure there is peace in Bawku; otherwise you’ll be in trouble,” she warned.
