Parts of Accra will go without power for a greater part of Sunday, as the Ghana Grid Company (GRIDCo) is scheduled to undertake maintenance work

Areas to be affected include Odorkor, Awoshie, Sakaman, Mallam, Darkuman, Santa Maria, Kwashieman, Tabora, Ablekuma, Joma, and Sowutuom.

Other affected areas are Ablekuma, Manhean, Gbawe, Weija, West Hills Mall, Oblogo, Anyaa, Bortianor, McCarthy Hills, Mandela, Sunda Industries, Tuba, Dunkonaa, and Dansoman.

The intermittent power supply, expected between 9:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m., is due to planned maintenance work to be carried out by GRIDCo at the Mallam Bulk Supply Point.

In a notice dated Wednesday, May 14, 2025, the Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) explained that the planned maintenance is aimed at improving service delivery.

ECG used the opportunity to apologise to residents in the affected areas for the inconvenience the exercise may cause.
