The success story of the Akuapem South Constituency in the Eastern Region under the incumbent National Democratic Congress (NDC) administration, cannot be achieved without peace and harmony, the Member of Parliament for the area has highlighted.
The MP, Lawrencia Adwoa Dziwornu, notes that as they embark on rebuilding the Akuapem South everyone admired, peace should be its hallmark because development has no space where there is none.
“I call on all the Chiefs, Assembly Members, and all stakeholders to come on board so that we can be able to sit down and discuss concerns and make sure that there is peace and tranquility within the party and the constituency so that the development which we are all seeking to achieve can be paramount,” she told Angelonline.com.gh in an interview.
Mrs. Dziwornu posited that she was not voted into office to oversee division as a leader, observing that she was raised devoid of such traits.
“I’ll do what it takes to foster and instill peace in the constituency to see and recreate the glory days of Akuapem South,” said the MP.
She charged the MCE, Paul Ossae Offei, not to allow his office to breed discrimination by creating camps. According to the MP, such practices could obstruct their efforts to achieve success.
“Now that the confirmation of the MCE is over, entreat the MCE, Constituency Chairman, [and] other key stakeholders in the area to ensure that there are no factions within the NDC. Where there’s no peace, development doesn’t exist,” she charged the MCE.
Mrs. Dziwornu made these remarks following the confirmation of Paul Ossae Offei as the Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) for Akuapem South on Monday, May 8, 2025.
