GFA launches investigation into Holy Stars, Nations FC violent GPL game

The Ghana Football Association (GFA) has announced the launch of an investigation into reported incidents of violence during a Ghana Premier League (GPL) match between Holy Stars and Nations FC at Nzema.

The match, a Week 33 fixture, was marred by pockets of violence, ultimately leading to a premature end after Nations FC walked off the pitch.

In a statement released on Tuesday, June 3, 2025, the GFA confirmed that it had opened investigations to ascertain the root cause of the incident, which occurred over the past weekend.

“The Association has commenced a thorough investigation into the reported incidents. The GFA wishes to assure all stakeholders, including clubs, players, match officials, supporters, and the general public, that it remains committed to safeguarding the integrity of the game and will deal with all issues arising from this matter expeditiously and decisively,” parts of the statement said.

The statement also urged all parties involved to cooperate fully with the ongoing investigation in the best interest of the game.
