Following his release from the custody of the Economic and Organised Crime Office (EOCO), Bernard Antwi-Boasiako, popularly known as Chairman Wontumi, has made his first public appearance.

The Ashanti Regional Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) was seen on Tuesday, June 3, 2025, in a video that has gone viral on social media.

He had been granted bail on Monday, June 2, after meeting all his bail conditions.

Chairman Wontumi’s first public appearance was at the party’s headquarters at Asylum Down in Accra, although the purpose of his visit remains unclear.

Some party supporters storme the party office, heard singing praises in support of the outspoken politician, who walked onto the premises dressed in an all-white kaftan.

“Chairman nie, Chairman one, NPP’s spirit is at work, welcome Chairman,” some NPP supporters were heard saying in an 18-second video clip.
