The Public Utilities Regulatory Commission (PURC) has announced that electricity tariffs will increase by 2.45% for all users starting July 1, 2025 however, water tariffs remain unchanged for the third quarter.
This adjustment follows the Commission’s quarterly review, which considers factors like inflation, exchange rates, natural gas costs, and the power generation mix.
The PURC explained in a statement released on Wednesday, June 25, that the tariff adjustment is part of its Quarterly Tariff Review Mechanism.
“The Commission wishes to announce an increase of 2.45% across board in the electricity tariffs”, however, water tariffs “remained the same at a flat rate of 0% for the third quarter of 2025.”
According to the Commission, these factors signisficantly impact the cost of delivering utility services and must be reviwed reguraly to sustain the financial health of service providers.
