A devastating fire has caused significant damage at Kwapong Nursing and Midwifery Training College, leaving a trail of destruction and chaos in the Asunafo South District.

The incident occurred on Friday, October 31, 2025, in Kwapong, located in the Ahafo Region, resulting in extensive property damage within the institution.

Firefighters from the Kukuom and Goaso Fire Stations in the Ahafo Region successfully brought the fire under control. A distress call was received at 7:12 a.m., and the Kukuom fire crew arrived on the scene by 7:30 a.m.

Reinforcements from the Goaso Municipal Fire Station followed shortly after, and the combined efforts of both crews helped contain the blaze.

Preliminary investigations suggest that the fire originated in one of the rooms on the first floor of a one-storey dormitory block and rapidly spread to six other rooms on the same floor.
