Following the High Court injunction on the funeral of Daddy Lumba on Friday, December 12, 2025, his uncle, Yaw Opoku, has expressed frustration over family disagreements surrounding the arrangements.
Speaking shortly after the Court announced the decision, Yaw Opoku stated that the family was initially ready to work together but alleged, the Abusuapayin (family head) has not cooperated.
“Initially we were ready for unity, but the Abusuapayin doesn’t want that. He doesn’t inform us when he’s doing anything,” he said.
He further explained that attempts to hold family meetings have been unsuccessful:
“At least he should call us so we sit down and solve everything, but anytime we are ready and set up for the meeting he doesn’t show up. Instead, he holds meetings with people he claims as family members, whom I don’t even know,” he added.
Yaw Opoku expressed concern over the ongoing situation, saying:
“It really bothers the family, what is going on now,” he wonders. .
