The Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS) has brought a domestic fire under control at Yarigabisi, near the Timber Market, after flames broke out in a section of a compound house around noon
In a statement by the GNFS on Friday, December 12, 2025, the service received the call at 3:16pm and arrived at the scene at 3:19 pm. The fire involved a single room within a seven room compound house.
According to the Fire Service, a team led by Station Officer (STNO) Lawal, with support from Assistant Divisional Officer (ADO), successfully contained the fire at
3:25 hours, preventing it from spreading to adjoining structures.

The statement noted that the crew’s swift action kept the fire confined to part of the wooden roofing, and no injuries were reported.
“Damage was limited to a portion of the wood on roofing due to that prompt intervention of the crew adding that no injuries were recorded,” the statement added.
The GNFS further indicated that investigation are underway to determine the cause of the fire.
