President John Dramani Mahama has reaffirmed Ghana’s solidarity with the people of Kenya as the country marks its 62nd Jamhuri Day.
In his address at the celebration on Friday,December 12, 2025, President Mahama paid tribute to the continent’s freedom fighters and emphasized that Africa’s current generation of leaders must now secure economic liberation.
“On this day, we pay respect to the memory of our phobias who fought for our freedom, and we do not take their sacrifice for granted.
“Jomo Kenyatta and Kwame Nkrumah relationship has become an enduring flame that has continued to bind our two countries together after our phobias won us political independence” he higlighlighed.
He called for value addition to Africa’s exports, increased intra-African trade, and stronger ties with the African diaspora, while commending Kenya’s timely intervention in Haiti to support its long-suffering population.
“The time has come for us to add value to Africa’s exports and we must show another solidarity with all members of the African diaspora, that’s why I wish to express the sincerest appreciation of the people of Ghana to the people of Kenya for your timely intervention in Haiti,” his excellency emphasized.
Mahama further emphasized Ghana’s Pan-African solidarity, announcing that troops from the 48 Engineering Regiment of Ghana to assist Jamaica after Hurricane Melissa.
