The government has deployed about 2,500 transformers nationwide as part of efforts to improve electricity delivery, President John Dramani Mahama has announced.

He made this remark after visiting the Northern Electricity Distribution Company on Sunday, April 19, 2026, as part of his “Resetting Ghana” tour.

According to him, the transformers are being installed in the first phase to replace old and faulty ones, aiming to boost electricity delivery quality and reliability.

He said the programme will continue in phases.

President Mahama attributed recent power interruptions to ongoing technical works, not a return to prolonged challenges.
