The Chief of Staff to the President, Julius Debrah, has reaffirmed government’s commitment to creating an enabling environment for women-led businesses to thrive, scale and compete globally.

Speaking on behalf of President John Dramani Mahama at the opening of the 11th Ghana Female CEO Summit in Accra, he said women continue to play a critical role in strengthening institutions and driving economic growth across the country.

“I was honoured to join distinguished women leaders, entrepreneurs, and industry stakeholders today at the opening of the 11th Ghana Female CEO Summit in Accra,” he said.

He stressed that the importance of women in business goes beyond participation, noting their impact on national development.

“This platform continues to highlight an important truth: that when women lead, institutions become stronger, communities become steadier, and economies become more resilient,” he said.

According to him, women are already sustaining key parts of Ghana’s economy, especially in entrepreneurship and small business development.

“Across Ghana, women are not merely participating in enterprise; in many respects, they are sustaining it,” he added.

He reiterated government’s commitment to supporting women entrepreneurs through policies that improve access to opportunities, finance, and growth.

“On behalf of H.E. John Dramani Mahama, I reaffirm Government’s commitment to creating an enabling environment where women-led enterprises can thrive, scale, and compete globally,” he stated.

Mr. Debrah further said the government is focused on building an economy that rewards enterprise and expands opportunity for all citizens, especially women and young people.

“We are focused on building an economy that rewards enterprise, expands opportunity, and delivers real improvements in the lives of our people,” he said.

He expressed optimism about Ghana’s economic future, adding that engagements at the summit strengthened his belief in the country’s progress.

“I left the Summit even more confident that Ghana’s best days are ahead of us,” he noted.

He also called for a fair and inclusive society where opportunity is not limited by background.

“Together, we must build a Ghana where opportunity is not limited by background, where enterprise is rewarded, and where every young woman can believe that the future belongs to her too,” he concluded.

The remarks were shared by the Chief of Staff on his official Facebook page following the summit, which brought together women leaders, entrepreneurs, policymakers, and industry stakeholders to discuss the future of women’s leadership and enterprise development in Ghana.
