Presidential aspirant, Kennedy Agyepong, has not yet made his decision on whether or not to accept the new role offered to him by the New Patriotic Party (NPP), according to his spokesperson, Kwasi Kwarteng.
Mr. Agyepong was appointed as co-chair, alongside Mavis Nkansah Boadu, of the party’s Employment and Jobs Committee, which is tasked with strengthening the NPP’s internal structures.
Following the appointment, reports circulated on social media claiming that he had rejected the role.
Speaking Monday, May.11, 2026, on Angel TV’s Anopa Morning Show hosted by Ohemaa Sakyiwaa, Mr. Kwarteng dismissed those claims, stressing that his boss has not yet taken a decision.
“As to whether he would accept the appointment or not, he is not a child; he is an adult, and so he will make his own decision.
“But, I mean, he is a job creation man. Yet, for all you know, his job creation may not be policy-centered; it may be practical job creation, and he could suggest someone else who is better suited for that role. And he can equally say that he wants to handle the role himself,” he explained.
Mr. Kwarteng emphasized that Mr. Agyepong has not made any official pronouncement on the matter.
“Yes, that decision he has not made, he hasn’t spoken or reacted to it. So ignore the statement that circulated claiming he has rejected the appointment,” he added.
