The Member of Parliament (MP) for Ayawaso West Wuogon, John Dumelo, has called on constituents to prioritize proper sanitation and waste management as part of efforts to keep communities clean.
Speaking at the launch of the Wastle application on Tuesday, July 7, 2026, the lawmaker emphasized that citizens must take bold initiatives toward environmental cleanliness.
To drive this vision, Dumelo announced a strategic partnership with Wastle, a waste management organization that has introduced an innovative, app-based solution to tackle garbage collection in the constituency.
Dumelo expressed gratitude to the management of Wastle for extending operations to Ayawaso West Wuogon, noting that their intervention provides a vital blueprint for a modern and cleaner community.
According to the MP, tackling sanitation challenges requires moving past traditional methods and adopting forward-thinking solutions.
“It is time for us to manage our waste and sanitation properly,” Dumelo urged his constituents.
“It wouldn’t hurt for us to take a bold initiative in order to keep a handle on waste management.”
“This is about taking a collective step forward for our health and our environment.”
Highlighting the tech-driven nature of the partnership, Dumelo expressed excitement over the official launch of the new Wastle mobile application. The app allows residents to seamlessly schedule refuse disposal and track services directly from their smartphones.
“I am highly impressed with the technology being introduced. With just a click on the app, our people can communicate directly with Wastle drivers to come to their aid and collect their refuse. It makes the entire process efficient, fast, and accessible to everyone,” the MP explained.
Dumelo urged all residents within the Ayawaso West Wuogon municipality to download the application immediately and actively participate in the sanitation drive.
He further reiterated that his office remains fully committed to supporting smart initiatives that improve the daily lives, health, and well-being of the people.
