If he doesn’t pay tithes, don’t marry him – Celestine Donkor

Gospel singer, Celestine Donkor, has encouraged women to be intentional when selecting a husband, urging them to avoid marrying men who do not pay tithes.

In a video posted on her Instagram page, while highlighting three important qualities they should assess before saying “I do.” The award-winning musician identified prolonged silent treatment as one of the major warning signs women should never ignore in a relationship.

She explained that women should be wary of men who withdraw from communication whenever disagreements arise, especially if they choose to remain silent for days, weeks, or even months instead of addressing issues constructively.

“The first warning sign is prolonged silence. If a disagreement occurs and your partner becomes upset, then refuses to speak to you for an entire day, several weeks, or even months, you should think carefully before marrying him. Most women naturally want to communicate whenever problems arise because they prefer resolving issues through conversation. Living with someone who repeatedly uses silence as a weapon can make marriage extremely difficult,” she said.

As her second point, Celestine Donkor stressed the importance of sexual compatibility between couples before marriage.

According to her, women should honestly evaluate whether their level of sexual desire matches that of the man they intend to marry, noting that significant differences in libido could become a recurring source of conflict in the relationship.

“Another important factor is sexual compatibility. If a man has an unusually high sexual appetite and frequently talks about intimacy, you need to examine yourself honestly. If your level of sexual interest is not similar to his, your marriage could experience ongoing difficulties. It is important to ensure both of you are compatible in that area before committing to marriage,” she stated.

The gospel artiste further cautioned women against marrying men who are excessively tight-fisted, suggesting that a man’s commitment to paying tithes can reveal his generosity.

“Also pay attention to whether he is generous or miserly. Find out if he faithfully pays his tithe. I wouldn’t advise marrying a man who refuses to give his tithe. If he is unwilling to dedicate ten per cent of his income to God, consider how he may treat you, another human being,” she added.
