Kumawood actor, Don Little, has shared a scary experience from his recent trip to Ethiopia.
In a video posted on his Instagram, Don Little explained that he almost landed in prison after trying to pay with Ghana cedis instead of the local currency, birr.
According to him, when he was boarding his flight in Ghana, the only money he had on him was Ghana cedis. He admitted he should have changed the money at the airport but did not.
“When I got to Addis Ababa, I landed in the morning. The flight was at dawn. Around 12 am, I felt hungry but did not know where to buy food,” he said.
In desperation, the actor approached someone and asked for money to buy food, promising to give the person the cedi equivalent in return. However, the person suspected him of being a thief and quickly called the police.
Don Little said when the officers arrived, there was confusion, but luckily one of them recognised him as a Ghanaian actor. After searching him, they confirmed he was indeed a celebrity and not a criminal.
He noted that if the officer had not recognised him, he could have ended up in prison for theft.
“I beg my Ghanaian siblings, let’s learn from this. Anytime you are travelling, make sure to change your money into the currency of the country you are going to,” he advised.
