The Executive Director of the Charted Institute of Marketing Ghana (CIMG), Kwabena Akuamoah Agyekum, has commended players in the awards industry.
According to him, the awards schemes have become the back bone of the hospitality and events industry.
“Truth be told, the awards industry today indeed is keeping the hospitality and events industry in business”, he stated over the weekend at the 2020 edition of the Ghana Insurance Awards.
In view of that, he said that the Hospitality and events Industry as well as the Creative Arts Industry among others, would all be negatively impacted if we had allowed COVID-19 to hinder the work of the Awards Industry.
Mr. Akuamoah Agyekum therefore said, any disruption in the Awards Industry would also affect the telecommunication and agricultural food chains.
He reasoned that the events industry makes purchases from the two industries.
“But mind you, these companies within this industry do buy data, do buy airtime and certainly the value chain would indeed be broken and we would all suffer the penalty thereof”, he declared.
While praising Richard Abbey Jnr, CEO of Xodus Communications, the CIMG executive director advised him not to “withhold good from those [that are] deserving of it.”
Hard working individuals and companies who distinguished themselves in the industry over the past year, were awarded at the ceremony.
