The leadership of Ghana Supporters has pledged its support for the ongoing covid-19 vaccination exercise.
The vaccination exercise which started on Monday stoked debate regarding its authenticity and efficacy despite assurance from the health experts.
The Group’s president, Abraham Boakye popularly known as One Man Supporter, said “We the members of Ghana Supporters are more than willing and ready for the vaccination exercise. We believe sports and fans go together. We have been denied access to football and its related activities because of the Covid-19 pandemic, so it is well and good that this vaccination is ongoing.”
The president who doubles as Vice President of African Football and other supporters unions added: “We can only go back to the Stadia for games when we all vaccinate, we want to go back and cheer on our various teams. I believe the absence of the fans during the Kotoko-Hearts game accounted for the barren results.”
“We are ready for the exercise, and we want to express thanks to government for the initiative. Let’s all get involved, that is the only way to combat this menace.”
So far, President Akufo-Addo, Dr. Bawumia, National Chief Imam Dr. Sheikh Nuhu Sharubutu, Asantehene Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, among other high profile personalities and members from the media landscape have gone through the exercise.
Abraham Boakye, the President, Kassim Osuman Awal and Vandyck Owusu Brenya who are executive members among others, make up the leadership of the vibrant group.
