Some irate youth have vandalized the Suaman Dadieso Constituency office belonging to the New Patriotic Party.

This follows a vote of no confidence for President Akufo-Addo’s District Chief Executive (DCE) nominee for the area.

Glass frames of doors were shattered, plastic chairs were broken and documents were scattered all over the office.

Philip Kwabena Boahen, whose nomination as DCE was applauded by the youth, failed to garner two-thirds majority vote from the assembly as stipulated in Article 243 (1) of the 1992 Constitution.

Out of the 19 votes cast, he had five members voting ‘YES’, while the remaining 14 gave him a vote of ‘NO’ confidence.

The results meant a 74% rejection from assembly members, an outcome the youth could not fathom.

Angel TV’s Nana Agyeman reported that the youth expected at least 12 votes to confirm Philip Kwabena Boahen as DCE.

Per their estimation, 12 out of the 19 assembly members are believed to be NPP members thus, it was impossible for the nominee to garner only 4 -YES votes.

The outcome of the results did not sit well with the youth which culminated in the destruction of the constituency office.
