Pop Superstar Rihanna named national hero of Barbados

Tobyn Rihanna Fenty, known popularly as Rihanna, has been named the national hero of Barbados.

Prime Minister Mia Mottley announced the Barbadian musician as the national hero as Barbados enters a Jew era as a republic after removing Britain’s queen Elizabeth II as its head of state.

Rihanna who was declared as a billionaire according to Forbes was honoured by the leader of Barbados Republican Movement.

In her words she said: “May you continue to shine like a diamond and bring honour to your nation by your works and action”.

Robyn Rihanna Fenty was born in St. Michael in Barbados and grew up in Bridgetown before moving to the United States to pursue her music career.
