Transport Fares have been reduced from a further 10%, the Ghana Private Roads Transport Union (GPRTU) has confirmed.
A release from the mother transport body called on all drivers and transport unions to post the new fares at their transport terminals and also ensure that they comply by the new directive.
The statement issued on Monday, May 15, 2023, said the reduction affects shared taxis, intra-city (trotro), intercity (long distance) and haulage.
“In line with the administrative arrangement on public transport fares, the road transport operators have reduced public transport fares by 10 percent to accommodate for the reduction in the price of petroleum products observed over the period.
“We further request all operators, commuters and the general public to kindly cooperate for the successful implementation of the new fares,” the statement announced.
