The New Patriotic Party (NPP) Council of Elders has effectively mediated conflicts between party executives and members in the Sekyere Afram Plains Constituency of the Ashanti Region.
The development comes after issues of differences among members of the party emerged in the constituency.
Victor Owusu, the council’s secretary, expressed hope that the peace agreement reached will have a lasting effect.
He stated, “I believe that this resolution will be permanent because we allowed the feuding parties to pour out their grievances.”
George Akom, the Parliamentary Candidate for the Constituency, commended the Council for their prompt intervention.
Constituency Chairman Rufai Zakaria also acknowledged the accusations against him and pledged his commitment to unifying the party.
The resolution of these disputes marks a crucial step towards bolstering the NPP’s influence in the Sekyere Afram Plains. With unity restored, the party can now concentrate on securing essential votes in the upcoming elections.
