The Member of Parliament (MP) for Sefwi Akontombra Constituency, Alex Djornuboah Tetteh, has expressed confidence in retaining his seat in the upcoming parliamentary elections.
He highlighted that his eight-year term in office has been marked by significant developmental projects in the constituency, achievements that he believes surpasses the 24 years of leadership by the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC).
Reflecting on his quest to retain the Sefwi Akontombra seat, Mr. Tetteh stated that his record speaks for itself and expressed confidence that his constituents would recognize his efforts.
“We are 32 years into voting in this country, and we have had NDC MPs leading the constituency for 24 of those years. But in my eight years as MP, I have worked extensively in employment, infrastructure, and social interventions to support the people,” he remarked.
Mr. Tetteh shared his belief that the people of Sefwi Akontombra will support him to continue his mandate, citing a biblical verse from Philippians 1:6: “He who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion.”
He further referenced Zechariah 4:9, saying, “The hand that lays the foundation will finish the same foundation,” adding, “So I am praying that with the knowledge God has granted us, combined with the people’s prayers, we have been able to provide extensive support to the community.”
As Deputy Majority Leader, Mr. Tetteh emphasized the developmental projects he has overseen and expressed faith that God, who “makes and unmakes kings,” will allow him to continue serving as MP.
“If you come to Akontombra Constituency, you will see that we have delivered. Therefore, I pray that the God who makes and unmakes kings will enable me to continue as MP,” he concluded.
