A Communications Team Member of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Twum Barima stated that the New Patriotic Party (NPP) administration never paid any money for free Senior High School (SHS) from 2021 to 2024.

He mentioned that during a panel discussion with Saddick Adams on the Angel Morning Show on Thursday 9th January 2025. He added that, the money that was supposed to be invested into the free SHS was never paid.

He further argued that, “look at how we suffered before the West Africa Examination Council ( WAEC) released the West Africa Senior Secondary Certificate Examination (WASSCE) results for the students because the government owes them”.

Twum Barima the National Communications Team Member for NDC highlighted that, “I have a parliamentary budget to prove that the 2024 budget committee on education pointed out to the education ministry that the government owes WAEC, publishers, and those who supplies foods to the schools so pay them”.

He articulated that, this current administration is going to put a halt on those who supplies food to the schools. “ we will break that chain and reverse back to the old system where the schools are given money to purchase their foods”.

He added that, those in the Northern sector will not wait for food from Accra to get there. “ There are abundance of yam and maize at the North so why should they wait for maize to be sent from Accra to Tamale” he said.

He expressed that, “we need not to be struggling with things that we can find within our locality but we are escaping them because someone says we have to wait for a central point, so we are going to take all those actions off”.
