Renowned Ghanaian gospel musician, Mama Esther, has finally broken her nine-year silence in the music industry, disclosing the reasons behind her absence in the gospel music industry.

In an exclusive interview, on Y’aduma Nie on Angel FM, Mama Esther, who has been in the industry for over 20 years, attributed her long breakaway to the overwhelming number of songs on her previous album.

“The album had many songs, and when someone tries to play them all, they won’t finish playing because the songs are many,” she said.

The “Me Lazarus bɛ sɔre” crooner added that her decision also stemmed from the directives of her Maker.

“That’s why I didn’t want to release all at once, so it wouldn’t spoil what God had sent me to do. I waited for the right time for God to direct me on when to release the next song titled ‘Onyame nyɛ mistake,” she mentioned.

Mama Esther whose last album “Me Lazarus bɛ sɔre’ was released nine years ago, made the revelation to DJ. Ohemaa Woyeje on Angel 102.9 FM, on Monday, March 17, 2025.
