Parliament has approved four nominees for appointment as Deputy Ministers, following the adoption of the Appointments Committee’s report.

The Committee, by consensus, recommended that the House endorse all nominations

Those approved include: Dorcas Affo-Toffey, MP for Jomoro – Deputy Minister for Transport
James Gyakye Quayson, MP for Assin North – Deputy Minister for Foreign Affairs, Mohammed Adam Sukparu, MP for Sissala West – Deputy Minister for Communication, Digital Technology and Innovations, Dr. Grace Ayensu-Danquah, MP for Essikado-Ketan – Deputy Minister for Health

Presenting the Committee’s findings, Chairman Bernard Ahiafor stated that the panel had reviewed relevant documents, invited public input, and held a public hearing on July 25, 2025, during which the nominees responded to questions on their qualifications, experience and vision for their respective Ministries.

“Following thorough scrutiny, the Committee found all nominees competent and suitable. It therefore recommends by consensus that the House approves the nomination of all four individuals for appointment as Deputy Ministers,” he added.

The nominations were formally referred to the Appointments Committee by Speaker Rt. Hon. Alban Sumana Kingsford Bagbin on July 17, 2025, following President Mahama’s submission in accordance with Article 78(1) and 79(1) of the 1992 Constitution.
