Ghanaian forward, Antoine Semenyo, has made a bold suggestion to decision-making stakeholders in the wider football community regarding the menace of racism.

According to the Bournemouth striker, despite ongoing efforts to combat the act, imposing maximum punishment on individuals found guilty must be seriously considered.

Speaking in a recent interview, the Black Stars forward said he was baffled by the persistence of racism in football and called for swift action.

“Its mind-boggling to be honest. I feel like the punishement is not enough when things like this happened. So i feel like with what is happening now, there has to be greater punishment and make sure that the punishment is maximum,” he stated.

Semenyo labelled the development as “unacceptable” and noted that football has advanced so much that such uncalled-for behaviours “shouln’t be happeneing these days.”

He went on to advocate stricter measures such as the imposition of a lifetime ban from attending matches and related punishments as meaningful steps to address the matter.

“It could be banned from stadium for a lifetime, it could be anything along the line but i feel like there has to be something done,” the player noted.
