President Mahama visits victims of GAF stampede at 37 Military Hospital

President John Dramani Mahama has paid a visit to the victims of the tragic stampede at the El-Wak Sports Stadium who are receiving treatment at the 37 Military Hospital in Accra.

His visit was to check on the hospitalized victims following the incident, which occurred on Wednesday, November 12, 2025. Mr. Mahama was briefed about the condition of the injured and their response to treatment.

The President was accompanied by key government officials, including the Finance Minister, Dr. Ato Forson, among others.

The Ghana Armed Forces (GAF) confirmed the deaths of six persons and injuries to several others following the stampede. According to the Forces, a breach of security protocols led to the incident.

The bodies of the deceased have been deposited at the 37 Military Hospital morgue, the same facility where the injured are currently receiving treatment.
