The Minister for Gender, Children and Social Protection, Dr. Agnes Naa Momo Lartey, has joined a high-level roundtable aimed at reducing preventable maternal deaths in Ghana.
The event, themed “No Woman Should Lose Her Life to Give a Life,” brought together government officials, health experts, and community leaders to tackle the country’s maternal mortality rate.

Speaking at the event, Madam Lartey stressed that saving women’s lives requires more than just healthcare facilities—it demands equity, accountability, and community action.
“When women survive, children are born, families thrive, communities prosper, and nations grow,” she said.

The roundtable was convened by the Office of the President, in partnership with UNFPA and the National Development Planning Commission.
Participants are expected to commit to specific actions and timelines to drive progress.
