The former President of the Ghana Football Association (GFA) and a member of Kennedy Agyapong’s campaign team, Kwesi Nyantakyi, has revealed that Agyapong’s campaign message distinguishes him from other candidates.
Speaking on the Angel Morning Show (AMS) on Tuesday, January 6, 2026, Mr. Nyantakyi noted that Kennedy Agyapong is the only presidential aspirant from the New Patriotic Party (NPP) whose message centres on unemployment.
“In Ghana, as we speak now, the biggest challenge facing the country is unemployment, and he is the only NPP presidential aspirant whose message centres on this issue,” he stated.
He explained that Agyapong is directly addressing unemployment in his campaign.
“And this is the man who has confronted unemployment headlong in his campaign.
“When he goes to Walewale, he is able to identify job opportunities there; he goes to Saboba and says that you farm lots of rice; when I come, I’ll put up a rice milling factory for you,” he revealed.
According to Mr. Nyantakyi, the rate of unemployment in Ghana is not merely a problem for young people but a national security crisis that demands urgent attention.
He emphasised the critical consequences of unemployment, which can lead many individuals to engage in social vices and other unintended actions that may negatively impact the country.
“Now, about 1.3 million Ghanaian youths are unemployed; to me, this is not merely a problem for young people; it is a national security crisis that we need to manage, because the consequences of the unemployment situation are very serious,” Mr. Nyantakyi said.
