The Ministry of Food and Agriculture has received a high-level delegation from Ukraine as part of ongoing efforts to strengthen bilateral cooperation in the agricultural sector, with a focus on advancing mutual benefits under Ukraine’s “Food from Ukraine” initiative and Ghana’s flagship “Feed Ghana Programme.”

Welcoming the delegation, the Minister for Food and Agriculture, Eric Opoku, described the engagement as historic, highlighting its potential to support poverty reduction and strengthen food security in Ghana.

As part of this partnership, Ukraine will distribute five million seed packets to vulnerable farmers and is exploring the establishment of a wheat flour processing facility in Ghana.

The visit follows the signing of a Memorandum of Cooperation between Ghana and Ukraine in November 2026, aimed at enhancing collaboration in agriculture and ensuring food security.

The visit also coincides with the launch of a Food Processing and Distribution Centre (Agrohub) in Ghana on April 9, 2026.
