The Tarkwa and Aboso (TnA) Stadium in Tarkwa, Western Region, will be turned into a festive ground on Wednesday, May 27, the public holiday marking Eid-Ul-Adha, as supporters of the Mauve and Yellow of Medeama SC gather for their second Ghana Premier League title coronation.
The glorious occasion, anticipated to see the mining city decorated in the club’s Mauve and Yellow colors, will feature Medeama SC taking on regional rivals Basake Holy Stars in a coronation match.
This event will pave the way for the official presentation of the 2025/26 Ghana Premier League trophy to the two-time champions.
Medeama SC secured the Premier League title following their 5-2 victory over Hearts of Lions in the penultimate match in Tarkwa. They will next travel to Accra to face Hearts of Oak at Accra Sports Stadium on Sunday, May 24, as the season comes to an end.
Despite the confirmation of their champions’ status, the Ghana Football Association (GFA) deemed it wise to give the Tarkwa-based club a fitting crowning moment in front of their home fans, marking a long month of its campaign.
As the champions’ coronation has already become the talk of the town, following initial reports that plans were underway to reschedule their match against Hearts of Oak to Tarkwa, residents of the mining city and its environs will have the opportunity to fill the TnA Stadium to capacity and make the day a memorable one.
