The Volta North Regional Police Command has arrested three immediate past students of Hohoe E.P. Senior High School for allegedly destroying school property after completing their final examinations.
They are Rashid Suraj Dakpo, 19; Alhassan Mohammed, 20; and Abdul Kadri Abdulai, 20.
The suspects were identified in a viral video allegedly showing them damaging school property after writing their last examination and leaving the school.
The Police said the arrests followed a complaint lodged by the school authorities on June 19, 2026, reporting that about five immediate past students had unlawfully damaged the school’s water pipeline after completing their examinations before departing for their various homes.
According to a police statement, following the complaint, the Regional Police Command deployed intelligence surveillance, leading to the arrest of three suspects.
The police expressed that the destruction of school property by students after completing school is becoming increasingly common and warned that anyone found engaging in such acts would face the full rigours of the law.
Meanwhile, efforts are underway to arrest the remaining suspects.
Police said the three have been handed over to the Regional Investigations Department to assist with investigations and are being processed to face a criminal trial.
The Police also urged parents, guardians, and teachers to continue educating their wards on the consequences of such acts.
