Chief of Staff Dr. Julius Debrah has called for stronger cooperation between Ghana and Nigeria, particularly in education, trade, innovation and youth development, to promote opportunities for young people and support Africa’s development.
He made the call while representing President John Dramani Mahama at the maiden convocation of the University of Offa in Kwara State, Nigeria.
Addressing the Pioneer Class of 2026, Dr. Debrah highlighted the importance of closer collaboration between the two countries in building the skills, knowledge and opportunities needed to advance the continent’s economic future.
Speaking on the theme, “From Certificate to Enterprise: Africa’s Graduates as Architects of the Continent’s Economic Future,” he urged graduates to use their education to develop African solutions, establish businesses and create jobs.
He encouraged the graduates to view their certificates as the beginning of a greater responsibility to contribute to society through innovation, enterprise and practical action.
Dr. Debrah also conveyed President Mahama’s warm greetings to His Royal Majesty, the Olofa of Offa, the university community and the people of Offa, a city that holds a special place in the President’s personal story.
He congratulated the Pioneer Class of 2026, the management and staff of the University of Offa, as well as the parents and guardians whose sacrifices contributed to the graduates’ achievement.
He expressed hope that the graduates would use their education and achievements to create opportunities and inspire others across the continent.
