Techiman Banahene, Baba Mahama has urged the youth to avoid drug abuse and the illicit use of substances, asserting that this can help lead healthier lives and secure a brighter future.
In an interview with Angel News following the Eid-ul-Fitr celebration at the Techiman L/A School Park in the Bono East Region, Baba Mahama advised youth to stay away from drug abuse and the increasing consumption of other potent substances.
He encouraged the youth to prioritize their education to become better individuals in the future, advocating that ongoing involvement with drugs will significantly jeopardize their prospects.

“What I have for the youths is about drug abuse. There’s a drug called ‘Wonim Red.’ The youth should stay away from it and the other hard drugs like weed, which I can’t mention all. So I am pleading that the youths should stay away from it,” he urged.
Gonja Chief in the Bono East Region, Alhaji Awudu Issaka, also called for peace and harmony among the inhabitants of the region to foster growth and development.
