The Office of the Special Prosecutor (OSP) has intensified its probe into the Minerals Income Investment Fund (MIIF) gold trade programme with targeted searches at key locations in Accra.
In a statement on Wednesday, October 29, 2025, the OSP said it executed search warrants at the Trassaco residence of Nana Yaw Duodu, popularly known as Dr. Sledge, and at the East Legon offices of Goldridge Company Limited.
The operation, sanctioned by the High Court in Accra, forms part of ongoing investigations into suspected corruption and related offences linked to the controversial gold trade initiative.
According to the OSP, the investigation centres on allegations that the MIIF gold trade programme resulted in a financial loss of approximately US$94 million to the State. Nana Yaw Duodu is a central figure in the inquiry.
During the operation, the OSP’s Asset Recovery and Management Team seized several high-value items, including luxury vehicles, jewellery, weapons, and documents connected to landed properties.
Meanwhile, the Special Prosecutor’s office has not disclosed further details but indicated that the investigation remains active.
