Minister for Education, Haruna Iddrisu, has inaugurated the Governing Board of the Ghana Scholarships Authority in line with Act 1149, approved by President John Dramani Mahama.
The inauguration marked a major step toward reforming the scholarship administration system in Ghana.

“The key basis for scholarship awards as merit, genuine need, specific beneficiary categories, and national development priorities with the highest standard of accountability and transparency,” he emphasized.
He added that, on behalf of the Board, the Chairperson thanked the President and the Minister of Education, assuring that “the Authority has entered a new era focused on ethical leadership, competence and strategic investment in Ghana’s youth.”
The Board comprises representatives from key sector ministries, the Attorney-General’s Department, the Association of Ghana Industries, the Students Loan Fund, civil society in education, the Authority’s Secretariat, and Presidential nominees.
