President John Dramani Mahama has delivered 100 pickup vehicles to the Ghana Police Service (GPS) to boost operations and ease pressure on service delivery.
In President Mahama’s speech at the Police Headquarters in Accra on January 8, 2026, he recognized the challenges Police officers face,stating that the vehicles underscore his commitment to aid them in protecting citizens nationwide.
“To the men and women of the Ghana Police Service, your sacrifices are recognized, we know the risk you take and the pressures you confront.
“These vehicles are part of our commitment to your safety as you protect us,” His excellency clarified.
President Mahama emphasized that support carries expectations, with the public demanding professionalism, integrity, and excellence, and urged that “criminal elements should know the state has both the capacity and resolve to act.”
He urged that the vehicles should support community patrols and coordinated operations against organized crime, emphasizing that law-abiding citizens must feel protected because security is more than just responding to crime.
President Mahama, who doubles as the Commander-in-Chief of the Ghana Armed Forces, affirmed that Ghana is secure, and no community within the territory of Ghana will be abandoned.
