Ghana’s death toll as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic is now 117 after five persons were confirmed dead on Wednesday.
The total number of cases since the coronavirus was first recorded in Ghana on March 12 now stand at 18, 134, according to the latest figures released by the Ghana Health Service on July 1.
The country recorded 393 new cases on Wednesday, the report by the health service said.
Meanwhile, the recoveries have also also moved up significantly to 13, 550 leaving the active cases at 4,467.
The condition of 20 persons has been described as severe, five persons are also said to be in critical condition and four are on ventilators.
