Personnel of the Ghana Police Service have arrested some protesters who converged around the head office of the Electoral Commission (EC) in Accra to protest the results of the 2020 elections.
The supporters mostly clad in red attire stormed the precincts of the head office at Ridge as part of their nationwide protests to demand that the results of the 2020 General Elections announced by the Electoral Commissioner last week.
The supporters started converging at the precincts of the commission in the early hours of Thursday to impress upon the commission to renounce its decision.
They clashed with the Police after the supporters started burning used tyres and blocked the main roads leading to the Ridge Roundabout leading to heavy traffic build up on the Kanda-Ridge stretch.
Police had to use to hot water and fire tear gas to disperse the crowd. Some protesters were arrested as a result.
