Twenty-eight out of the thirty-three players invited by Black Stars coach, Otto Addo took part in the team’s first training session held on Saturday and Sunday, at the Cape Coast Stadium ahead of Ghana’s first two-game of the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers.
The team arrived in the Central Regional Capital on Saturday, May 28, 2022, to prepare against their Group E opponents Madagascar and the Central African Republic (CAR).
Ghana hosts Madagascar on Wednesday, June 1 in the first game with kick-off scheduled at 7:00 pm before traveling to the Central African Republic for the second game of the qualifiers on Sunday.
Notable players who joined their colleagues at camp are; Leicester City’s Daniel Amartey and Dennis Odoi, and German-based Daniel Kofi Kyereh.
On the other hand, Columbus Crew defender, Jonathan Mensah is expected to join the rest of the team today, Monday, May 30, 2022.
The stars first hit the ground with fieldwork on Saturday and proceeded to hold a gym session on Sunday morning before undertaking some tactical drills.

Ghana is drawn into Group E alongside Madagascar, the Central African Republic, and Angola for a place in next year’s AFCON to be staged in Cote D’Ivoire.
