Reigning MTN FA Cup champions, Accra Hearts of Oak have fired back at former welfare manager of the club, W.O Tandoh, for using unpalatable words on the team and some officials.

W.O Tandoh who is currently the assistant coach for Dormaa Aduana Stars, is reported to have accused Board Members of the club Alhaji Akambi and Vincent Odotei of being the brain behind the downfall of the club.

He further invoked curses on the team among and said, Accra Hearts of Oak will lose the next five matches in succession.

His comments come after accusing the rainbow club of owing him six months of unpaid salaries.

Responding to the comment, the Phobians in a statement told their former employee that the club’s fortunes do not lie in his hands because, he has no such authority to define their destiny.

“Our destiny can never be in the hands of W. O Tandoh for him to say Hearts will lose our next five matches. If indeed he has any such authority to decide the fortunes of men, we urge him to deploy that to help his team win every game in every competition.

“At Hearts, what we believe in is that we strive to win our games since we believe matches are won based on good preparation and good performance and not through any others means.

“At Hearts of Oak, we respect our leaders, and we expect he, W. O Tandoh to do same because these same leaders gave him the platform to enhance his career and therefore do not deserve those unwarranted comments from a man with a military background where discipline is core in all of their activities,” the statement contained.

Accra Hearts of Oak by the statement described the comments the utterances of W.O Tandoh as unfortunate, unacceptable, and very unprofessional adding he should know better as “discipline as a real soldier” will always be.

The Club, therefore, urged supporters of the Oak family to disregard him and fully throw their support behind the team as they continue to move in a positive direction to bring the needed changes to the club as yearn to attain preeminence.

The Accra-based Ghana Premier League side on that note urged W.O Tandoh to needfully retract his comments.
