BREAKING: Allotey Jacobs EXITS Peace FM’s Kokrokoo to make way for NDC
Share on FacebookShare on Twitter

Former Central Regional Chairman of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Bernard Allotey Jacobs has opted out of Peace FM’s Kokrokoo, GhanaNewsPage.Com can confirm.

Allotey, according to sources close to the programme chose not to appear on the show again despite being given the green light to maintain his position as a regular panelist on the Wednesday edition.

Host of the show announced that Allotey Jacobs despite being a regular member has decided not to appear on the show.

“I have decided to stay back from all media encounter so I won’t be going to Peace FM again,” a message from Allotey read.

Your breaking news hub on GhanaNewsPage.Com last week reported how the NDC planned to boycott the show to protest Allotey’s continuous presence.

The party had described the host of the show host as a dictator.

Chairman Allotey as he is affectionately called is a regular panel member of the Wednesday show with Abdul Malik Kweku Baako Jnr, editor in chief of the New Crusading Guide, Kwamena Duncan, Central regional minister and another NDC representative.

Allotey was originally representing the opposition NDC until the current Communications officer of the party, Sammy Gyamfi, found it difficult to accommodate his independent view, stripping him of his representation.

Unable to take Allotey’s candid comment any longer on the show, Sammy Gyamfi formally wrote to Peace Fm, withdrawing NDC participation on the Kokroko show until the former Central regional chairman has been dropped from the show.

But Sefa Kayi says over his dead body to drop Chairman Allotey from the show.

In a brief chat, Sefa Kayi, popularly called ‘Chairman General’ indicated that Allotey also known as ‘educated fisherman’ will continue to be part of his Wednesday panel.

“This is a man commuting from Cape Coast to Accra in odd hours just to take part in my show, I can’t drop him,” Sefa Kayi hinted.

But Chairman General as Sefa is known announced on Wednesday that Allotey has voluntarily decided not to appear on the show.

His decision was met with mixed feelings from fellow regular panelists, Kwamena Duncan and Kweku Baako.

While Kwamena accepted Allotey’s decision, Kweku Baako maintained that he does not agree with the decision but respects it.
