Demonstrations against the declaration of Nana Akufo-Addo as president-elect in the just-ended General Election continue to intensify, this time in the Eastern Region.
The peaceful protest which started at Kpone and ended in the Lower Manya Krobo municipality was attended by NDC executives and thousands of party faithful.
Protesters who were clad in red and black
chanted ‘No Mahama No Peace’, ‘Akyem Mafias’ and many more as they marched through the principal streets of Lower Manya Krobo counstituency amid heavy security.
“Lower Manya have turned red, EC and Akufo-Addo has robbed us. No Mahama no peace, we will demonstrate till EC declared the right results.
“Akufo-Addo will know no peace. There will be more demonstrations because we are very angry and would not accept the results.
“January 7th, Akuffo should forget because he will not sit on that Chair,” Yaw Hormenu, the NDC chairman for Lower Manya told Angel FM reporter, Samuel Sackey.
The demonstration is part of series of protests by the NDC to register their displeasure at the election results.
