The Tamale Circuit Court has sentenced Abdul Jabril Alhasan, 26, to ten years imprisonment for defiling a 9-year-old girl in Savelugu in the Northern Region.
According to information gathered by Angel News’ Badim Manawuba Elijah, the incident happened weeks ago when the accused under the pretense of sending her to buy pure water received her in an uncompleted building and defiled.
He however warned her not to tell anyone about the act.
Information available however indicates that this is not the first time this has happened.
The parents of the little girl who confirmed the act but refused to speak on camera disclosed that they saw changes in their daughter’s movement and suspected something might have happened to her, and after confrontation, she opened up to them that, it was Abdul Jabril Alhasan who did that to her and warned her never to disclose to anyone.
Speaking to the Municipal Commander, DSP Twumasi Ankra he said, Idrisu Abdul Mowin came and lodged a complain that his daughter was defiled by Abdul Jabril Alhasan and was given a medical form for treatment.
The Police did not however hear from the Mr Iddrisu again and through their intelligence they had information that the suspect went to Mr Iddrisu to pay GHc 130 for hospital bill for the case to be resolved at the blind side of the police.
The Police however were able to locate the residence of the suspect and picked him up for further investigations.
He added that after interrogation, the suspect admitted and pleaded guilty and cannot even recount the number of times he had slept with the little girl.
They forwarded the suspect to Tamale Circuit Court where he was sentenced to 10 years imprisonment with hard labor to serve as a deterrent to others in the municipality.
