As candidates begin their examinations, the West African Examinations Council, [WAEC], has denied reports of leaked Food and Nutrition paper for the West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE).
Following this, Head of WAEC, Wendy E. Addy-Lamptey, said Ghanains should treat the spearheaded fabrication by African Education Watch as untrue.
In a press conference held on Monday, August 23, 2021, Wendy Addy-Lamptey noted that the information being put out there could lead to fear and panic among the candidates.
“The information put out by EduWatch about the alleged leakage is untrue, misleading, and it is creating anxiety among the candidates and the public.
“It is purely to enable the teachers to prepare for the conduct of the actual paper, which was taken on Friday, 20th August.
“The paper clearly contains only guidelines and was already in the public domain, hence we are surprised that somebody picks it and refers to it as a leaked document,” Mrs. Addy-Lamptey stressed.
She advised the general against creating unnecessary tension, fear, and panic as that could put results of successful candidates in ‘doubt’ when they apply to tertiary institutions both locally and internationally.
